In their drive to support each other, Small Small Chinese (SSC), a group consists of different members across the world helping people to learn the Chinese language for better communication has donated to Hagan Street popularly known as Dove Cut firm victims.
The donation which comprises of bags of rice, one bail use cloths and tarpaulins was done on the 23rd July, 2020 at the Hagan Street popularly known as “Duff Cot”
One of the Sierra Leone members of Small Small Chinese, Samuel Turay sympathized with the victims and encouraged them to have faith in God as He knows best.
He said Small Small Chinese motto is giving back to the world, believing that teaching basic Chinese and empowering the youths will help bridge cultural barriers, making the world a better place for all.
He continued to say the donation was made possible through the effort of the founder of Small Small Chinese Mariatu Kargbo who is the Black Pearl of China, 2009 Miss Sierra Leone, Miss World finalist with two awards, the first Sierra Leone Guinness World Record holder and holder of a second world record for supporting the fight against Ebola in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.
He said Maria and her team hearts are with them through this difficult time that is why they though it fit to do such donation.
Alusine Kamara encouraged the victims to follow SSC on facebook, youtube, twitter and instagram for them to have better understand of the Chinese language for easy communication when they interact with Chinese.
Chairman of Hagan Street Foday Kanu aka Foday Yankra while receiving the items on behalf of the victims, thanked the team for taking off their precious time to reach out to them with such support.
“We really appreciate this with all our heart. We will ever remain grateful for such donation, thanks to Maria and her team for coming to our aid again.”
Both the victims and their chairman spoke well about Maria, reviling that this is not the first intervention by Maria. They reflected during the days of Sierra Leone Ebola crisis, Maria came to their aid with huge support.
They disclosed further that Small Small Chinese is the first organization that has visited them with such support. They are still looking for more as some of the victims mostly youths are still scouting for shelter and cloths, among others.
